Eligiblity
Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the hospice program here are some general criteria:
The patient has been diagnosed with a terminal illness or health decline with a life expectancy of six months or less if the disease progresses as expected. Some illnesses related to hospice patients are:
- A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
- Cancer
- Chronic Degenerative Neurological Disease
- Dementia
- General Debility
- Heart Disease
- HIV/AIDS
- Huntington Disease
- Liver Disease
- Parkinson's Disease
- Pulmonary Disease
- Renal Failure
- Stroke or Coma
- The attending physician has agreed that the patient is a suitable candidate for hospice care.
- The patient/family desire hospice care and are no longer seeking aggressive or curative treatment.
